From 8 to 16 June 2024, the BeEntrepreneurs Association will host in Italy the top 5 startups from the “Next Generation Africa” program, offering a captivating opportunity to delve into the African startup scene and its innovative ecosystem!
The initiative
Following the highly successful first edition in May 2022, the winners of the new edition of the program
“Next Generation Africa” are set to land in Italy for the second time. Spanning across Milan and Bologna,
this journey will feature many gatherings aimed at tracing the paths of thriving enterprises, showcasing
business concepts, and nurturing lasting connections. The initiative is spearheaded by the BeEntrepreneurs
Association and the Italian Embassy in Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi with the support of various public and
private partners.
Between 8 and 16 June 2024, the five winning startups from East Africa, which were selected from over 330
applications across the African continent and attended an intensive acceleration bootcamp in Kigali in
August 2023, will engage with the Italian innovation ecosystem in Milan and Bologna thanks to a unique
experience organized by BeEntrepreneurs.

housing in Africa.
Luna
A femtech startup providing a secure app for confidential discussions and information on key topics concerning women’s mental and physical health.
Shambapro App
n agritech startup offering an innovative app to help small farm business owners build and manage sustainable and profitable farm enterprises, empowering them to efficiently manage resources and enhance sustainability and viability in agricultural operations.
Ubuntu Education
An education-focused startup providing a platform for the development of teachers in Africa, centralizing services like courses, networks, communities, job searches, and up-to-date research to aid teachers in their
professional growth.

PUBLIC EVENT:
STARTUP AFRICA DAY
On Tuesday 11th June 2024, Cariplo Factory will host Startup Africa Day in its Milan headquarter. This event marks the end of the “Next Generation Africa 2023” program offers a unique opportunity to connect with African entrepreneurs. It also provides an opportunity to watch the preview of our third documentary produced by Kenian media agency Startinev and videographer Valerio Casale during their trip to Kigali in August 2023.
Attendees will have the chance to be inspired and interact with innovators from both the Italian and East African ecosystems. Expect captivating pitches from our Ugandan and Rwandan startups, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and listen to a roundtable featuring key figures involved in cooperation and innovation across the African continent. The event will be followed by a networking reception with drinks and canapes where attendees are welcome to mingle and connect. Seats are limited, so be sure to reserve yours! Startup Africa Day is realized thanks to the contribution and patronage of Fondazione Cariplo.
